Taylor Swift hires new publicist amid fresh start

Taylor Swift has split with her longtime PR spokeswoman, Paula Erickson, and hired flame-haired beauty Tree Paine to help her deal with the never-ending press interest.

Swift, the 24-year-old Grammy Award winner, is bringing Paine on board at a time when she’s starting a new chapter in her life in Tribeca and may need some additional help in the media capital of the world.

“There isn’t a publicist in NY, LA or Nashville that wouldn’t jump at an opportunity to work with someone as talented as Taylor Swift and her management team,” said Paine.

Erickson had been with her for the past seven years.

Paine is setting up a new PR company, Premium PR, after winning her new client. Her background is with both the Academy of Country Music and Warner Music’s Nashville operations.

The new PR bulldog is already using her Twitter account to call out media stories that she says are wrong and untrue.

On April 10, Paine posted a link trashing a National Enquirer story about Swift saying no to a request for a duet with Randy Travis.

Swift is reportedly working on a fifth studio album as a follow-up to “Red,” which sold 1.2 million copies in its first week.
