Massive bee’s nest removed from schoolyard

A massive bee’s nest was removed from a tree near a Brooklyn schoolyard Friday night, police said.

Authorities say the nest was spotted on the grounds of PS 29 in Carroll Gardens by nearby residents who complained of bees swarming the neighborhood.

About 12,000 bees were removed along with the hive by NYPD’s beekeeper around 7:30 p.m.

“It’s a good thing this didn’t happen during school hours,” a police source said of the bee swarm. “These bees can be very aggressive this time of year.”

There were no reported injuries, authorities said.
