Man killed in Bronx car crash

A man was killed in a one-car accident Thursday when he smashed into a Bedford Park train pillar—splitting his car in two pieces, cops said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was traveling northbound on Morris Avenue near East 196 Street around 2:20 a.m. in a 1999 Lexus, when he careened into the train pillar, according to police.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, cops said.

The impact left the car in two pieces, separating the front and back of the car.
