World shares NY Post front page of Michelle Obama’s #BringBackOurGirls

New York Post

The Post’s front page capturing Michelle Obama’s powerful plea to save the Nigerian schoolgirls was shared widely across Twitter and Instagram on Thursday — with one user calling it the “Mother of all Headlines.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith tweeted an image of the cover, which had a somber picture of Michelle holding a sign with the Twitter hashtag #BringBackOurGirls, to bring global attention to the abductions.

Nigerian-born British social-media consultant Jide “BBK” Salu called it “The Mother of all Headlines” — linking to a personal blog post that read, “Nigerians say a big thank you to Americans and the New York Post.”

Some saw the cover as a hopeful sign that leaders will step in to help.

“I see this and I start to really believe world powers will act,” author Stacy Parker LeMelle commented on Twitter.

“What a powerful @nypost cover today #BringBackOurGirls now let’s get them back!” tweeted Sabrina Levine, who works in public relations.

Other members of the media sharing the cover included Buzzfeed political reporter Andrew Kaczynski and French journalist Erwann Gaucher.

Adam Sharp, who heads Twitter’s government and nonprofits team, said it’s “taking ‘a new front page for news’ to new level.”

Michelle Obama’s post has been “favorited” more than 27,000 times and received more than 46,000 retweets.
