TCM Memorial Day Weekend Marathon (Begins 6 a.m. and runs through Monday)

Hunker down for 72 hours worth of war movies — 34 in all — including “Sergeant York,” “Twelve O’Clock High” and “The Dirty Dozen.”

Classic War Saturday (Begins 6 a.m. and runs all day Saturday on AMC)

More war movies, including “The Sands of Iwo Jima” and “The Longest Day.”

WWII in HD (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on History)

Original battle footage that’s been digitally restored and remastered for a high-definition format.

SUNDAY

“A Revolutionary Sunday” (1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on AMC)

A marathon of the first few episodes of the network’s Revolutionary War drama “Turn,” leading into a new episode at 9 p.m.

National Memorial Day Concert 2014 (8 p.m. on PBS)

Airing live from the West Lawn of the US Capitol and hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise. It features musical performances, documentary footage and dramatic readings.

MONDAY

“World War II in Color” marathon (Monday, 2 a.m. to 3 p.m., American Heroes Channel)

Documentary series reveals previously unexamined aspects of WWII using cutting-edge colorization techniques and information taken from recently-released secret documents.

Salute to Service marathon (Monday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sportsman Channel)

Gary Sinise hosts this block of programs with connections to those who serve and sacrifice, including all eight episodes of “NRA Life of Duty.”

“Brothers in War” (7 p.m. on National Geographic Channel)

The cable network re-airs this two-hour special narrated by Charlie Sheen, which recounts the combat experiences of the men of Charlie Company, one of the last American combat infantry companies sent to fight in Vietnam.

“Chosin” (9 p.m. on American Heroes Channel)

This documentary feature from filmmakers/Iraq War veterans Brian Iglesias and Anton Sattler recounts the story of the survivors of the Koren War’s Battle of the Chosin Reservoir — a 17-day clash between 15,000 U.S Marine soldiers and 67,000 Chinese troops.

“The World Wars” (9 p.m. on History)

President Obama will introduce the first episode in this six-hour, three-night documentary series, which focuses on the 30-year period of war from 1914 to 1945. Featured: Interviews with Sen. John McCain, General Colin Powell, Leon Panetta and others; actor Jeremy Renner narrates.

“Restrepo: Afghan Outpost” (9 p.m. on National Geographic Channel)

British photojournalist Tim Hetherington and author Sebastian Junger’s documentary film follows a platoon of US soldiers on deployment in Afghanistan’s deadly Korengal Valley.
