A man was found dead in a burning pickup truck on a deserted beach in the Hamptons Saturday, police said.
The initial investigation by homicide and arson detectives indicates the man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was not the victim of a crime, cops said.
The death was “either accidental or a suicide,’’ said Southampton Police Officer Michael Burns.
Officers at the scene did not reveal how they came to that conclusion.
A caller to 911 reported the burning truck on the ÂPeconic Bay beach just after noon.
