$1M Rockwell painting that vanished from Queens found in Ohio

The $1 million Norman Rockwell painting that vanished from a Queens storage facility last year has been found in Ohio, The Post has learned.

A private investigator received information that led him to the 1939 piece, titled “Sport,” in good condition at an undisclosed location Sunday night, sources said.

Dean Golemis, who works for Global Security and Investigative Services, found the work and drove it back to Welpak Art Moving and Storage in Ridgewood, which hired him in October to assist the NYPD in finding the pilfered painting, the sources said.

It disappeared Sept. 12 from Welpak, which was to deliver it to a private collector in Birmingham, Ala., law-enforcement sources said.

The painting, which was featured on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post on April 29, 1939, depicts a man dressed in a yellow raincoat while fishing in a rowboat, his pipe whimsically inverted against the downpour.
