Woman scarred after botched eyebrow tattoos: lawsuit

A Staten Island woman had an eyebrow-raising experience at a local spa when a permanent makeup application went horribly wrong, according to a lawsuit.

Theresa Destefano, 73, went to Remedi Day Spa in Charleston in 2011 to get her eyebrows permanently tattooed on, but claims in a Staten Island Supreme Court lawsuit that the spa didn’t do the right eyebrow correctly.

Staff tried to revise the work but did so in “a negligent and careless manner.”

The tattoo work could “not reasonably be considered to be a good result,” said her lawyer, Charles Destefano, who is not related.

“It was asymmetrical and basically crooked,” he said.

Destefano is suing for unspecified damages. Spa management could not be reached for comment.
