Obama’s brother-in-law fired by Oregon State

Not even having friends in the highest of places could save Craig Robinson.

Robinson, the brother-in-law of President Barack Obama, was fired Sunday night as head coach of Oregon State, according to a Sports Illustrated report. Robinson seemed to have survived college basketball’s firing season with the Beavers campaign coming to an end six weeks ago.

Robinson coached the team for six years, leading the team to a 93-104 record, including going 16-16 last season. Robinson, who had three years and more than $4 million left on his deal, introduced sister Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
