US diplomat on Ukraine unrest: ‘F–k the EU’

WASHINGTON — A top Obama administration official dropped the F-bomb dissing the European Union in a bugged phone call.

Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was recorded saying, “F–k the EU” during a call with US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt.

The surreptitious recording, anonymously posted on YouTube Thursday, caught Nuland discussing diplomatic strategy for dealing with unrest in Ukraine.

Nuland says the UN envoy sent to resolve the political crisis will “help glue this thing and to have the UN glue it. And you know, f–k the EU.”

White House spokesman Jay Carney accused the Russians of leaking the tape. The State Department called it a “new low in Russian tradecraft.”
