Cop grad celebration turns into boozy brawl

A boorish band of newly sworn-in Port Authority police officers got so drunk after their recent graduation that they brawled with bar patrons and each other at a Hoboken watering hole — and even disrespected local cops and their superiors who showed up to rein them in, sources told The Post on Wednesday.

The nitwits were part of a graduating class of 249 probationary police officers — the largest in the department’s history — on Aug. 22.

They went for celebratory drinks at Texas Arizona Bar and “were boisterous, drunk and disorderly,” said a source.

“This was not policing. It was ‘Animal House.’ These people don’t deserve to wear the uniform,” the source said.

Bar employees called Hoboken cops when a full-on brawl broke out with about 60 patrons, a mix of the officers and regular patrons.

Hoboken cops alerted the Port Authority PD, but even the rookies’ own bosses couldn’t calm them down.

“The most troubling thing is that they were defiant and showed no realization that what they were doing was wrong,” the source said.

Since the officers are still on probation, they can be fired at any time.
