Even Johnny Manziel’s two thumbs have swagger.
Browns quarterback coach Dowell Loggains said a cocksure “hurry up and draft me” text message he received from Manziel during the former Texas A&M quarterback’s agonizing wait in the Radio City green room helped spur the Browns to trade up and select him during Round 1 of the NFL Draft last week.

“I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together.”
“When I got that text, I forwarded it to the owner (Jimmy Haslam) and to the head coach (Mike Pettine),” Loggains said on ESPN Arkansas 96.3. “I’m like, ‘This guy wants to be here. He wants to be part of it.’ As soon as that happened, Mr. Haslam said, ‘Pull the trigger. We’re trading up to go get this guy.'”
Loggains said the Browns had discussions about acquiring the No. 11 pick from the Titans and the No. 16 pick from the Cowboys, and also feared the Rams might go for Manziel at No. 13.
