Yeti captured on video at ski resort

Yetis might walk among us after all.

Guests at the resort of Formigal in the Pyrenees are watching their backs after a large yeti-like creature was spotted wandering the slopes in northeastern Spain, the Telegraph reports.

Shaky footage shows a shaggy white humanoid shape, resembling the storied monster from the Himalayas, walking upright on two legs. In the three-second clip, the creature calmly makes its way between the resort’s fir trees.

The skier who took the footage posted the sighting online with the caption: “Strange animal spotted in Formigal. What the hell is this?”

The picture was retweeted thousands of times by people convinced that it was proof that abominable snowmen exist. Skeptics argued in online forums that it was an albino gorilla, a polar bear or a man just having a laugh in a fuzzy costume.

Officials at the resort, which was the host of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships in 2008, said a search of the area had taken place after an “alleged yeti sighting.”

“We have spoken to the witnesses of the sighting to identify the area in which it took place and after combing the area we have found nothing,” a resort representative wrote in a Facebook post. “We believe therefore that there is no cause for alarm and that visitors’ security is guaranteed. In any case we will remain alert.”

Resort guests should keep their eyes peeled — and keep their smartphones handy.
