Get ready for the city’s first luxury condo auction since the 2007 economic crisis began, says John Cuticelli, chairman of Sheldon, Good & Co., the court-appointed auctioneer of a 29th-floor unit at the Ritz-Carlton New York Residences in Battery Park City.
The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom unit is owned by Erik and Ashley Kaiser, who are in receivership, Cuticelli said.
The auction — with a minimum bid of $2.5 million — will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, 10 West St., on April 6, and showings begin today.
The unit includes a gourmet chef’s kitchen, a walk-in cedar closet in the master bedroom and a washer/dryer, along with floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. Building amenities include those offered by the hotel: a 24-hour concierge, in-residence dining from the room-service menu, a 24-hour gym and full access to housekeeping services, overnight laundry and valet parking.
