Why Kiernan Shipka is our favorite style star

She may play rebellious teen Sally Draper on “Mad Men,” but when it comes to her real-life fashion choices, 14-year-old Kiernan Shipka earns an A+.

She hinted at style-star greatness back in September, when she walked the 2013 Emmys red carpet in a retro-floral frock from Delpozo — a brand that, at the time, was almost exclusively worn only by fashion’s inner-circle.

And judging by her most recent slew of photo ops, there’s no slowing Shipka from quickly climbing to the top of several best-dressed lists.

Check out five of her most recent (and our favorite) looks:

Unlike most budding starlets, Shipka ditched the go-to Herve Leger bandage dress safe zone and instead opted for this drop-dead gorgeous Delpozo midi-length gown at the Emmy Awards last September.

The modern floral print makes this retro silhouette look fresh.

Shipka goes for bold hues with equally bold accessories in this digital print floral frock by Mary Katrantzou, a think-outside-the-box Greek-born designer who’s known for dressing Hollywood’s most stylish stars — namely Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger and Keira Knightley — in her signature hyper-real dresses.

Leather can be ladylike in the form of a full, knee-length skirt paired with a classic silk top. Shipka scores in this Max Mara look at a cocktail party in May, and lets her studded Christian Louboutin purse add a wee bit of rebellious edge sans angst.

Picture perfect in Peter Pilotto

This playfully proportioned Peter Pilotto frock makes Shipka look like a million bucks at a movie premiere in Los Angeles this past spring. Bonus points for working in a crop top that’s age appropriate.

The starlet is pretty in this pink embellished Marni number. Sure, it’s strapless and mini, but the dramatic draping adds some seriously chic flair. So do her playful Edie Parker box clutch and minimal Aldo sandals.
