Anti-Muslim maniac busted for sending death threats

An anti-Muslim Queens maniac, already facing charges that he stabbed a man at a mosque in 2012 while hurling epithets, was arrested over the weekend for threatening to kill Council on American Islamic Relations staffers, officials said.

Bernhard Laufer, 56, was busted by the feds Saturday for allegedly sending e-mails threatening to kill the civil-liberties group’s executive director, Nihad Awad, and communications director, Ibrahim Hooper.

“I am coming after you. You Jihadi Bastard,” Laufer allegedly wrote to Awad last week.

Laufer was arrested last year after allegedly stabbing a worshipper at a Queens mosque in November 2012 while yelling, “I’ll kill you, Muslim!”

Laufer, who is out on $200,000 bail pending trial in that case, was angry with the DC-based CAIR for targeting him after the mosque assault.

“Nice try in trying to set me up for Attempted Second Degree Murder as a Hate Crime,” he wrote.

The Rego Park man said he would “stop at nothing” to murder Hooper.

Hooper said in a statement, “This is yet another incident demonstrating the actual, imminent harm that can result from Islamophobia.”
