The massive UFC collision to start thinking about

The UFC welterweight champion is outgrowing the 170-pound division, and according to Johny Hendricks himself, a move to middleweight is eventually inevitable.

“I don’t know how long I’ll be able to make 170 pounds,” Hendricks told The Post during a promotion for Reebok. “I’m getting older, and it’s getting harder and harder to cut weight.”

Hendricks, who won the welterweight title in March after a five-round affair with resurgent contender Robbie Lawler, is considering his options.

“Big Rig” Hendricks made his intentions clear when he called out Chris Weidman on a June episode of “Inside MMA.”

“Realistically, if I won three or four fights, and so does Chris Weidman, three or four fights, do you think we could have that happen? 185?” Hendricks asked.

Hendricks’ timeline leaves him about two or three years from making the move to 185 pounds, if he’s planning on three or four more fights at welterweight.

However, not everyone seems to be on board with Hendricks’ potential move.

“You got a lot of housework to do before you start talking about Chris Weidman,” UFC president Dana White said.

For the time being, Hendricks remains the UFC welterweight champion, but a move to the middleweight division is in his sights.
