Argentinian president: I didn’t see a single World Cup match

We understand Argentine President Cristina Kirchner has a lot on her mind, with dealing with a looming deadline on her country’s debt payment, but her diss of the country’s national soccer team upon its return from the World Cup sounds like “Let ’em eat cake.”

Argentina team manager Alejandro Sabella and the players showed up at the presidential palace last week after a heartbreaking loss to Germany in the 1-nil final only to be greeted by the out-of-touch Kirchner: “I didn’t see a single match, not even [the final].”

Kirchner, who reportedly had a sore throat and could not travel to neighboring Brazil, went on to say, “Even so, I called Alejandro because for me, and for 40 million Argentines, they had won the match.”
