Weird But True

Man strips naked during job interview, doesn’t get job

Magic Yikes!

A man in England left quite an impression during a job interview when he stripped off his clothes and gave his best rendition of “It’s Raining Men.”

The Daily Mirror reports that Mukra Mirza, 32, was thrilled when asked to come in for an interview with NBS, a specialist IT recruitment agency.

He also felt he had to do something that would make him stand out from other candidates.

Once inside for the interview, the job hopeful began to seductively take off his clothes and sing for his interviewers.

The recruiters were impressed at first with Mirza’s voice, but they apparently didn’t appreciate Mirza’s Magic Mike striptease in the interview room as much as he had hoped.

“Where as we loved your karaoke version of ‘It’s Raining Men’ we feel the strip tease was a little unnecessary,” the company wrote in a letter judging Mirza’s performance.

But the antics didn’t stop there.

Mirza also claimed on his resume that he had experience “sex trafficking women from the Middle East.”

For NBS, this was the last straw.

“Also the fact you have been involved in sex trafficking women from the Middle East does not really count as ‘vast recruitment experience’ as you suggested,” they wrote.

Admitting that it was a first for him, Richard Forrest, delivery manager for NBS, wrote the rejection letter that Mirza received.

“Congratulating Mr. Mirza for his disco-performance wasn’t something I’d ever formally replied to anyone before,” Forrest said. “We all enjoyed his extrovert performance and big effort to impress, but finding a role for him is going to prove difficult …

“We don’t have much call for an individual who strips and breaks into song in IT recruitment.”

Mirza admitted to the Mirror that he may have gone overboard, but he felt he had to due to the slim job market.

“I might have laid it on a bit thick during the interview, but I really want a job, you see,” he said. “It’s important these days to do something that helps you stand out.”

Ending the letter on somewhat good terms, Forrest thanked Mirza for his time and gave him some advice.

“I suggest moving forward you seek medical attention before attending further interviews,” he wrote.

Mirza didn’t let the suggestion bring him down, though, telling the Mirror that he won’t have a problem standing out in future interviews.

“The only ‘medical attention’ I’ll need to get is for the burns I keep getting — because when it comes to impressing future bosses, I’m quite literally on fire.”
