Marilyn Monroe will be the subject of yet another biopic, this time on Lifetime.
“Marilyn” is based on J. Randy Taraborrelli’s 2010 book “The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe” and will be written by “24” writer Stephen Kronish, who also wrote “The Kennedys,” which aired on Reelz in 2011 after being dropped by History.
Lifetime hasn’t announced an airdate or any casting yet.
Monroe, who was 36 when she died in 1962, was played by Charlotte Sullivan in “The Kennedys.” Michelle Williams received an Oscar nomination for playing Monroe in “My Week With Marilyn,” and there’s also a big-screen biopic of Monroe in the works which could star Jessica Chastain, according to reports.
The movie will be produced by Asylum Entertainment, which also produced “The Kennedys” and Lifetime’s biopic “Ring of Fire,” which aired last year with stars Jewel as June Carter Cash and Matt Ross as Johnny Cash.
