Voilà, c’est Rih! Rihanna may have celebrated her 26th birthday in Aspen last week, offering spectators and fans a high-fashion snow bunny photoshoot — an Instagram exclusive — but this week, she slayed the fashion scene in Paris.
Perched in every top designer’s front row at Paris fashion week, the pop princess fearlessly committed to bold fashion choices — neon sunglasses, gaudy jewelry and furs with little on underneath — looks we’ll be discussing for years to come.
Vanity vixen at Christian Dior
Flashing her megawatt smile, Rihanna was cool as ever sitting front -row at the Christian Dior Fall/Winter 2014 show. She exuded the allure of a Hollywood starlet, draped in black stilettos, a red mink and, underneath that, seemingly nothing but a slinky black nightie.
Balmain’s military model
Rihanna showed up to Olivier Rousteing’s Fall 2014 Balmain showing in a khaki look that left many green with envy. Here, the face of the fashion house’s spring 2013 campaign sported a belted, leather safari number that showcased her tattooed chest.
Karl’s Chanel angel
Rihanna’s Twitter and Facebook followers know her fashion loyalty lies with the house of Chanel. The singer was truly #CCcertified (a hashtag she coined) at the Fall 2014 runway show, which was decked out like a supermarket. Next to a gaunt Karl Lagerfeld, she looked like a demure schoolgirl in a lilac-toned Chanel dress and giant pearl arm candy. Even her sneakers were from Chanel.
She flashed the paparazzi a sweet smile just before the show started, when she wrapped herself in a cozy Chanel fringe sweater.
Colorfully cool at Stella McCartney
After all those muted looks, Rihanna went Technicolor. Backstage at the Stella McCartney show, she snuggled up to her model BFF, Cara Delevingne, wearing a pair of bright coral sunnies and an oversize gray and green coat.
Tomboy chic at Givenchy
Channeling the tomboy chic era of the ’90s, Rihanna took in the Givenchy collection in a baggy pantsuit with a creamsicle trim. A baseball cap she wore backwards and white sneakers gave her instant street cred.
Dress in gray at Lanvin
The “Monster” singer braced herself for the paparazzi lurking outside the Lanvin show in a gray fur wrap and fedora. Her classic brogues helped her make a speedy getaway.
Deliciously gaudy for Gaultier
Rihanna looked every bit the ’40s screen siren at Jean Paul Gaultier. That black-and-white fur throw over her shoulder could give Cruella de Vil a run for her money. To top it off, she wore black gloves and lipstick to match.
Fear-less at Comme Des Garcons
RiRi zipped her lips and let her clothes do the talking at Comme Des Garcons, where her oversize leather trench was draped with a fur stole that spelled out “fear” — something she’s certainly without.
Behind the scenes with RiRi
Rihanna gave fans a quick glimpse into what it takes to look so good. The pop singer puffed away on a cigarette while waiting for her team of handlers to buckle her up. Here, she showcases what was under that ruby mink coat — a micro-mini and thigh-high stockings.
Finishing touches
Ever the diva, Rihanna sits in the back seat of her car ready to be whisked away to the Christian Dior show. Staring into her mirrored sunglasses, she waited patiently as stylist put the final touches on her shiny black bob.
Practically picture perfect
More prep! RiRi smudged out her eye shadow even more, while her stylists worked on her lower half, ensuring everything was in its place.
Casual chic
Rihanna briefly escaped the hoopla in a pearl necklace, a green and red striped sweater and a pair of denim boyfriend jeans. She gave photogs a wave as she entered Montaigne’s Market.
