Rejected French first lady Valérie Trierweiler still working

Jilted journalist Valérie Trierweiler was still playing the part of France’s first lady Sunday — embarking on a charity mission to India — despite being publicly kicked to the curb by her philandering lover, President François Hollande.

Although Trierweiler touched down in Mumbai a day after Hollande’s au revoir, she was still accompanied by a presidential bodyguard.

It was unclear if the escort was there to protect her or keep her from embarrassing the president.

Trierweiler’s visit to India was scheduled before her life was upended by a gossip magazine’s revelation that Hollande was seeing a younger actress, Julie Gayet, on the side.
