ID network pulls NY private eye for new series

Exclusive: Longtime New York City private eye Steven Rambam will star in the upcoming series, “Nowhere To Hide,” premiering Aug. 4 on Investigation Discovery.

Rambam, the founder and CEO of Pallorium, Inc. — a licensed investigative agency with offices worldwide — has coordinated investigations in over 50 countries and “nearly” every US state (and Canadian province), according to his bio. This dude gets around.

Rambam specializes in hunting down elusive disappearances — in addition to tracking fraudsters, scammers, mission persons and fugitives. Each episode of “Nowhere to Hide” will feature footage of Rambam hunting his prey — “driven by his determination to uncover the truth.”

In the Aug. 25 episode, “KISS and Run,” Rambam enlists the help of wrinkly rockers KISS in tracking down their former business manager, who declared bankruptcy and vanished — allegedly stiffing his wife out of alimony and forcing his family to move into a homeless shelter.

‘The Real’ deal coming

Telepictures has sent out a promo for “The Real,” which premieres Sept. 15 on Ch. 5 (and BET) after a successful limited-market, four-week test run last summer (seven cities, including New York) with returning co-hosts Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.

So it’s a good time to touch base with amped-up “The Real” executive producer Sally Ann Salsano (“Jersey Shore”) — who says (well, shouts, really) that “The Real” anchors are not rehearsing for the upcoming official “first” season.

“We did 20 episodes last summer and I think we had 20 rehearsals,” she says. “We’re coming out of the gate like gangbusters. I feel like we’re pretty lucky; in doing those 20 episodes it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my god, we have to do a pilot and hope that works’ — we were able to find ourselves … really quickly.

“The difference is that the show is really our messenger,” she says. “I’m a huge fan of daytime — I TiVo ‘The Talk’ and ‘The View’ — I’m a huge fan of all those shows and I love the chit-chat and everyone’s opinions, but I could write those opinions right now ’cause they’re so calculated. Not in a bad way, but the thing I love about this show is that you really don’t know what is going to happen. It’s like having lunch with a girlfriend and it doesn’t matter if it’s off-color … the girls on this show know what I know about life, which is close to next-to-nothing — and they’re learning along with me. I like to say it’s like we  did this play in high school — and now we’re going to Broadway.”

Fox will also be airing three summer shows; two premiere Monday — “The Daily Help Line” (noon/Ch. 9) and “Hollywood Live Today” (11 a.m./Ch. 5). “Laughs” bows Aug. 2 (midnight/Ch. 5 and Sunday at 11 p.m./Ch. 9), hosted by Starr Report pal, comedian Steve Hofstetter.
