Burt Young to be honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran actor and Oscar nominee Burt Young will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Hoboken International Film Festival.

The festival, which runs May 30 through June 5 in Middletown, NY, will kick off with the screening (in Middletown’s Paramount Theater) of “Rock Story,” described as a “rock n’ roll drama mystery” that features former “Three’s Company” star Joyce DeWitt, Eric Roberts, Dominique Swain and Robert David Hall (“CSI”).

The big honor, though, will be reserved for the Queens-born Young, cited for his long, storied career, which not only includes his turn in the “Rocky” movies (as Paulie), but also roles in “Mickey Blue Eyes,” “Back to School,” “Win Win” (opposite Paul Giamatti) and a slew of TV shows including a memorable role in “The Sopranos” as the father of Bobby Bacala (Steve Schirripa) — who comes out of retirement, coughing and wheezing (in episode “Another Toothpick”), to whack his godson (it ends badly for all involved).
