Teacher busted for bringing air rifle to Brooklyn school

A high school English teacher was arrested for bringing an air rifle and a toy gun into her Brooklyn school Wednesday morning, cops said.

Vilma Latalladi, 53, was at a screening area at Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences on Shore Boulevard near Decatur Avenue in Manhattan Beach around 8:30 a.m., cops said.

That’s where he discovered the air rifle and toy gun, cops said.

Security guards alerted the principal, Scott K. Hughes, who immediately called police to arrest the teacher, cops said.

Students tweeted about the arrest.

“No Latalladi got arrested for bringing in a fake gun for a class prop,” @Chrisccampo wrote.

Students also tweeted that a rumor where Latalladi punched principle Hughes in the face was false.

“lol the part where she punched the new principal is false,” tweeted @Chrisccampo.

“Only in Goldstein would a teacher get escorted out by cops for bringing a f–king rifle to school,” tweeted @dominique_rosee.

“Free Latalladi… F-ck that free zaza,” @RobbBuch tweeted.

“They were toy guns. The air guns were confiscated, police were called and the matter is under investigation,” said a Department of Education spokeswoman.

Latalladi is charged prohibited use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds, cops said.
