Startup’s couriers will deliver anything New Yorkers want

In a city that has everything, a speedy Manhattan startup is transporting wedding rings, sombreros and $1,000 bottles of Scotch. It even delivered a Jeep to Rosie O’Donnell.

New Yorkers using WunWun, an iPhone-app delivery service, are ordering its 300 “helpers” to haul more than just takeout, groceries and last-minute flowers and gifts.

The startup’s couriers — who cover about 20 miles per day in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Hamptons — are being asked to transport ice luges, Victorian nightgowns and 5-foot-long inflatable pickles.

“We deliver from any store and restaurant to where you are — and that’s where these unique requests are coming from,” said Lee Hnetinka, WunWun’s co-founder and CEO.
