The 76ers may not be much to watch this year, but they made one inspiring youngster’s day on Monday.

Sam Hinkie, the president of basketball operations and the team’s general manager, signed Bensalem High School senior Kevin Grow to a ceremonial two-day contract at the team’s practice facility. Grow is the basketball manager and suffers from Down Syndrome. His coaches put him on the court for the team’s final two games of the season, and Grow went on to score 14 points, including three 3-pointers and a buzzer beater.

On Monday, he ate dinner in the players’ lounge, toured the practice facility and received Sixers gear. He met the team and coaching staff on the floor at the end of practice and got to shoot around.

Prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Cavaliers at Wells Fargo Center, he will be given a locker and a team jersey. Grow will watch pregame warmups, take part in the high-five tunnel when players take the court for the game and stand with his team during the National Anthem.

During a timeout, Grow and the Bensalem basketball team will take the court for a special presentation to cap his memorable two days with the 76ers.
