This week’s 10 best and worst dressed celebs

The red carpet was alive and well this week with ample premieres, appearances and award ceremonies. Some soared to great style heights, while others flopped worse than a Halle Berry movie.

Here are the week’s best and worst.

The hits:

Lucy Liu

Liu looked lovely in a pleated Proenza Schouler dress when she stopped over for a “Late Show” appearance.

She teamed it with Giuseppe Zanotti cut-out booties, a sleek ponytail and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

At the “God’s Pocket” LA premiere, little Sally Draper stunned in a cerulean Prabal Gurung dress. In fact, she looked better than just about everyone else who showed up.

And she’s 14 — mull over that for a while.

Naomi Campbell

The supermodel proved fringe has it benefits when she wore this shimmery Kate Moss for Topshop dress at the collaboration’s London launch event.

Campbell not wearing Alaïa or Alexander McQueen is a rare occurrence indeed. Naomi clearly hearts Kate.

Zoe Saldana

Saldana, who’s been conspicuously absent from the red carpet of late, made a great comeback when she flaunted this cool blue Roksanda Ilincic ensemble to an AOL event in NYC.

She kicked it up a notch with a pop of orange in her patent Christian Louboutin pumps.

Keira Knightley

Warning: fawning to follow. Knightley graced NYC with her angelic presence at the Tribeca Film Festival closing night gala premiere of “Begin Again.”

The actress wore a sequined organza Chanel Haute Couture number with a nipped waist perfectly suited for her lithe frame.

The misses:

Debra Messing

Messing attended the New York Pops 31st Birthday Gala in NYC looking a mess. The baroque print trend is staid.

How to make your outfit even more outdated? Finish it with a matronly top bun, then throw on a bunch of gaudy granny jewelry.

Hilary Duff

Duff, too, looked broke — ahem — baroque in the long-sleeved dress she wore to the iHeartRadio Awards in LA.

The dress isn’t terrible, it just looks a little cheap, and a lot outdated. We love you Hil, but if we’re expected to care about you again you need to catch up.

Jennifer Lopez

J.Lo attended the “American Idol” Season 13 elimination show in LA Thursday, and frankly, this lace-up tunic smock thing should have been the first to go.

What a terrible, tacky attempt at gypsy chic.

Nicole Richie

Richie usually gets it right, which makes it surprising she got it so wrong trying to edge it up at an LA event hosted by AOL.

Note: When you’re already rocking purple hair, it’s best not to push it with a too-short studded dress with thigh cutouts.

Jared Leto

Leto, with his lovely ombré locks and rocker attitude, is no stranger to unconventional red carpet choices.

Most of the time it works, but when he showed up to the iHeart Radio Awards wearing a skirt, slip-ons, paisley and teal all in the same troubled outfit, it most certainly did not.
