When Karlie Kloss needed to get dolled up for her Warby Parker collaboration launch event in New York (below), she called in the glam squad.
Enter Vênsette, an on-demand dream team of hairdressers, makeup artists and manicurists that make house calls.
Lauren Remington Platt, a former model-turned-financier-turned- beauty guru, launched the company three years ago.
Her inspiration? Starbucks, of all things.
“No matter who was making your coffee, you got a consistent experience,” she said. “I wanted to translate that to hair and makeup.”
The secret to shrinking all-day magazine shoot prices, making it doable for regular people?
“I said, ‘If I can guarantee the appointments are timed, so you don’t have to block out a whole day, and I guarantee bookings, would you be able to lower your prices?’” Platt says.
Stylists said yes, and services range from $150 for hair or makeup, or $350 for the works.
A small price to pay for pampering by the team that beautifies Karlie, Dita Von Teese, Jessica Hart, Rachel Roy and Petra Nemcova.
