Cops are asking for help in finding this “Coward,” who they say has been sneaking up on people and bashing them over the head with a hammer,

Anthony Coward is responsible for the string of terrifying attacks in Queens and Brooklyn, police said Sunday.

Coward, 28, swinging a silver hammer, first allegedly hit a 26-year-old woman at about 7 a.m. March 5 on Pershing Crescent near Lander Street in Briarwood.

He then grabbed the victim’s purse and fled, according to police. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

Coward struck again at 11 a.m. May 4, ambushing a 23-year-old man in at the Rockaway subway station in Brownsville, Brooklyn, cops said.

He hit that victim several times, first on the head and then on his body, before grabbing the man’s wallet and fleeing, police added.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was treated and then released.

On Wednesday, Coward was back at it, smashing a 32-year-old man in the head and demanding cash, police said.

The victim was purchasing a MetroCard inside a train station on Rockaway Avenue at around 9:20 a.m., cops added.

The victim forked over his cash and Coward ran away, police said.

The third victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

Coward is 5-foot-10 and about 140 pounds.


A masked thief looking for some dough burglarized a pizza shop in Forest Hills, police said Sunday.

The crook entered A&J Pizza on Austin Street near 71st Road at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, snatched a handful of cash and fled, according to police.

Cops are asking for the public’s help identifying the thief, who was caught on surveillance video wearing a hankerchief over his face, a baseball cap and a backpack.


An NYPD mechanic and his spouse got a wakeup call from police when they were arrested following an early-morning brawl in their Fresh Meadows home, sources said Sunday.

David Binyard, 40, who works on the department’s fleet of cars, got into an argument with Tedra Snell Binyard, 38, at around 5:15 a.m. Saturday, the sources said.

She allegedly threw an alarm clock and hit him in the face, leaving him with a cut and bruising near his left eye, the sources said.

David Binyard then allegedly punched his spouse in the face and stomach, the sources added.

The mechanic was charged with reckless endangerment, assault and harassment.

His wife was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.


Brooklyn

A 39-year-old man was fighting for his life — and facing criminal charges if he pulls through — after being shot in East New York, police said Sunday.

The victim was shot twice in the chest at a home on Wyona Street near Riverdale Avenue at around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition and placed in police custody.

When first responders got to him, they also found a gun beneath him, cops said.

His name has not been released, and it wasn’t clear if he fired off any rounds.


The Bronx

A man was shot dead in Soundview on Sunday, cops said.

The 22-year-old victim was at Castle Hill Avenue and Gleason Avenue at around 4:40 a.m., when a gunman opened fire, hitting him in the head and chest, polices said.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His name was withheld pending family notification.

It was unclear what sparked the attack, but the victim had at least five arrests for crimes that included harassment and robbery, sources said.


Cops are looking for a brute who robbed a woman in an elevator in Mount Hope.

The 38-year-old victim was going to her fifth-floor apartment near Tremont Avenue and the Grand Concourse at around 1:30 p.m. May 1 when a man shoved her from behind, police said Sunday.

He then snatched her cellphone and ripped a gold chain from her neck before fleeing down the stairs, cops added.

He is believed to be in his mid-20s and was wearing a black and red baseball cap with a black and red checkered button-down shirt.

No injuries were reported.
