Knicks star gets $30M kickback from Beats buy

The first thing on the mind of NY Knicks star Carmelo Anthony may not be cash as he weighs whether to opt out of his current contract.

The $21 million Anthony got this season comes up a little short of the $30 million he realized when Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed to buy Beats headphones for $3 billion.

The 29-year-old Knick had a knack for business back in 2008, when he opted to take a stake in the fledgling music tech company instead of cash for endorsing the headphones.

Some basketball mavens have posited that the Beats windfall could make Anthony feel a lot better about taking a pay cut for next season and make the move down to Miami to join Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh even easier.
