Man miraculously survives getting hit by speeding car

A young man miraculously survived getting mowed down by a driver who was racing down a Queens sidewalk — suffering only minor injuries despite being sent flying clear across the street, sources said Tuesday.

In an interview with The Post Tuesday evening, victim Mohammad Sabbil Salin, 19, said he has no memory of the bizarre incident.

“I just remember standing on the corner. I don’t remember what happened. I just remember four guys running and that was it,” he said from his bed in Elmhurst Hospital.

“Next thing I know I’m waking up in a bed with wires all over me, wondering what went wrong.”

“I feel really lucky to be alive,” he added.

Cops said Salin suffered a broken leg, a concussion and a dislocated shoulder when he was run down about 4 a.m. Sunday.

Salin, who’s known as “Akash,” also said: “Everything hurts right now. I’m just out of surgery and taking a lot of medication to try to feel better.”

Stunning surveillance video shows Salin, of Long Island City, walking on a sidewalk at the corner of 45th Street and 30th Avenue in Astoria. He clearly sees the white sedan speeding toward him.

Salin tried to back up out of the way, but got clipped and went tumbling through the air before landing in the gutter on the far side of 45th Street.

The car continued through the intersection and onto the sidewalk again, heading westbound along 30th Avenue.

The NYPD asked for the public’s help in identifying the car and its driver.

Father Mohammad Salin, 56, said: “It’s a miracle that he is alive.”

“I’m crying about this. My son is hurt and I want some justice for my son,” he said.

I just remember standing on the corner. I don’t remember what happened…I feel really lucky to be alive.

“These crazy drivers are a big problem. He didn’t even see it coming. He didn’t know someone hit him.”

Neighbor and friend Lisa Logan, 40, called the video “too painful to watch,” adding: “I can’t believe he’s alive.”

“We want someone to come forward and admit their guilt….I don’t know what type of person could do this,” Logan added.
