Weird Al schools us on grammar in Robin Thicke parody

It’s day two of Weird Al Yankovic’s epic return to the spotlight, featuring eight new music videos of his parody songs in eight days.

Tuesday brings the inevitable: a hilarious spin on Robin Thicke’s ubiquitous summer 2013 hit, “Blurred Lines.”

In the music video for “Word Crimes” — which is really more of a lyric video — Yankovic lampoons the current state of grammar on the Internet.

He bemoans everything from the failure to use contractions properly (it’s versus its) to using letters instead of words (“c u later” versus “see you later.”)

Congrats on the win, fun English teachers everywhere!
