Images of missing kids will be required to be shown on Taxi TV, a new City Council bill is proposing.
Jimmy Vacca (D-Bronx) introduced the measure in the Council last Wednesday in honor of tragic Avonte Oquendo, the severely autistic teen boy whose remains were found last January after he disappeared from his Queens school.
Pictures of children that disappeared will be displayed on the screens in both yellow and green cabs.
“It was the Avonte case that motivated me,” said Vacca, who added that the city has up to 20 percent of air time on the TV’s that it’s not using.
