French President François Hollande didn’t deign to visit his emotionally wrecked live-in girlfriend at a Paris hospital for days after he revealed to her he had a secret, younger lover.
Valérie Trierweiler “had thrown a veritable fit” when she discovered Hollande had been sneaking out of the presidential Elysée Palace for trysts with Julie Gayet, the newspaper Le Canard Enchainé reported Wednesday.
“I have been humiliated in front of the whole of France,” she reportedly told Hollande’s chief of staff.
Hollande’s inner circle was so worried about Trierweiler that they alerted the president’s personal doctor, who ordered that she be sent to Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital.
But Hollande — who is weighing whether to dump her as first lady of France — snubbed her, according to an editor of Paris Match, which runs Trierweiler’s book reviews and other articles.
