Longtime NBC News producer leaves

One of Brian Williams’ longtime producers has exited NBC News, NBC confirmed to On The Money.

Subrata De, who globetrotted to the world’s war zones with Williams since 2003, left 30 Rock for good on Friday.

Newsies are speculating she’ll land with former NBC News boss Steve Capus.

Capus — who is also close friends with Williams — just took over a heavyweight role at CBS, running (among other things) the “Evening News With Scott Pelley.”

Other sources suggest ABC News may also want De for a top producer slot there, as chief James Goldston remakes the division following the promotion of Ben Sherwood to news president.

De is currently an executive producer at MSNBC, working with Andrea Mitchell.

NBC News, meanwhile, has been getting its ducks in a row ahead of its exclusive Edward Snowden interview.

The Williams scoop will air Wednesday and is Snowden’s first American TV interview, which was conducted in Russia.
