9 people injured in Brooklyn crashes

At least nine people were injured in Brooklyn after two vehicles crashed into buildings in two separate incidents, authorities said.

The first crash happened in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 2:10 a.m. Friday when a sanitation truck rammed into a storefront at Bedford and DeKalb avenues, officials said.

Police believe a black 2011 Volkswagen ran a red light, causing the garbage truck, which was traveling westbound, to swerve off the road and into a deli, police said.

Five men and a woman were rushed to area hospitals.

Their injuries ranged from serious but non-life-threatening to minor, cops said.

A second vehicle crashed near the Dime bank at 13th Avenue and 50th Street in Boro Park just 10 minutes later, according to authorities.

Two people were rushed to area hospitals but their conditions were unknown, authorities said.

Police said no arrests were made in either incident but investigations are ongoing.
