Is there a standalone Ben Affleck Batman film in the works?

If you were already worried about Ben Affleck’s effect on “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice League” and the super-team’s follow up “Justice League,” you’re in for a bat-kick to the gut.

Citing sources, Latino Review is reporting that Warner Bros. and DC Comics are planning on a stand-alone Bat-fleck film for release in 2019.

Warners made the surprise announcement last August that Ben Affleck signed on to play Batman in multiple movies, which includes the two movies already mentioned, but what about a standalone Batman film?

According to sources, I’m hearing the studio is eyeing 2019 for the standalone Batman film and I even got a working title: “THE BATMAN.”

This report jibes with the slate of films reported last week by nikkifinke.com, which lists the studios’ plans through 2018 and adds big-screen treatments for classic DC characters Wonder Woman, Shazam and Sandman, as well as more Superman.

If that list holds true, we’ll be seeing Affleck on screen as the Caped Crusader in summer 2016 for his clash with the Man of Steel and again when “Justice League” drops a year later.

The report doesn’t provide any more specifics than the working title, but posits that production likely wouldn’t start until after the release of “Justice League” and Affleck’s next directorial foray, “Live by Night.”
