Ex-con leads cops through mad chase in subway

That’s gonna leave a mark!

An ex-con on parole for manslaughter led cops on a wild chase today through a Midtown subway station — only to be clocked in the head by the train he was hiding under, sources said.

Alberto Gonzalez, 39, is in critical but stable condition in New York Hospital after being struck by an uptown No. 6 train at around 2 p.m. in the 59th Street/Lexington Avenue station, according to the sources.

“I saw him laying on a stretcher upstairs. He looked pretty out of it,” said Charles Spooner, 62, a retiree visiting from Colorado.

Plainclothes transit cops first approached Gonzalez when they spied him acting suspicious near a MetroCard machine and asked him for his ID, sources said.

As Gonzalez fumbled to find his ID, a gun clip allegedly fell out of his pocket and onto the ground.

The cops quickly grabbed Gonzalez, but he managed to break free, sources said. He bolted under a turnstile and darted through the station.

The officers saw Gonzalez jump onto the downtown tracks and sprinted upstairs and across the street, hoping to catch him on the uptown side of the station, sources added.

In an attempt to hid e , sources said Gonzalez crawled under an uptown No. 6 train that was stopped in the station.

But, his cover was blown when he raised his head to survey the area and was beaned on the noggin by the last car of the train as it pulled out of the station.

Cops arrested Gonzalez and he was rushed to the hospital.

In addition to the gun clip, officers recovered a .380 handgun on the uptown tracks, sources said.

Gonzalez — who is also known by his alias, Albert Martinez — spent 18 years in prison on a manslaughter conviction, according to state Department of Correction records.

Charges are pending.
