Dead frog in Pret salad leaves gal green

A customer at a popular grab-and-go sandwich shop in Manhattan discovered an extra green surprise in her salad — a dead frog!

Pret A Manger on 47th Street and Sixth Avenue served up the lifeless amphibian alongside eggs, capers and leafy greens on Monday, according to Kathryn Lurie, a Wall Street Journal editor.

Lurie, who posted a photo of the frog on Instagram, said a co-worker discovered the unwelcome roughage.

“She was pretty shaken, understandably,” Lurie said.

The eatery now claims it’s investigating how the critter made it into the meal.

“Our lettuce is sourced from farms that do not use any pesticides on its produce, therefore organic matter does very rarely manage to pass through our production process. We are currently looking into this issue to make every effort that this does not happen again,” Pret said in a statement.
