‘Grey’s Anatomy’ says goodbye to Dr. Cristina Yang

Warning: This article contains spoilers

Cristina Yang finally left Seattle for Switzerland — but not before some trademark “Grey’s Anatomy” operating-room chaos and one final Cristina/Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) dance-off.

Thursday night’s season finale of ABC’s veteran drama sprinkled in a few surprises throughout its hour, leading up to the departure of Dr. Yang, played by original series star Sandra Oh, departing “Grey’s” after 10 long seasons.

And, naturally, Yang’s last day on the job was total chaos.

A gas-main explosion at a Seattle mall sent dozens of survivors to Seattle Grace with horrific injuries, including blisters caused by dry-cleaning chemicals.

Since this is “Grey’s Anatomy” — where season-finale chaos reigns supreme — Yang frantically operated on the injured and almost performed a pediatric heart transplant. Right.

She also returned to Seattle Grace a final time to “dance it out” with Meredith (a signature “thing” between them).

Cristina had some words of advice for Meredith — “Don’t be a hero. I need you alive. You make me brave” — before bidding a low-key goodbye to her Seattle Grace colleagues (and taking Shane, played by Gaius Charles, with her to Switzerland in a surprising twist).

Cue the whiny acoustic soundtrack.

Meanwhile, Webber (James Pickens) discovers that Cristina’s replacement is really his long-lost adopted daughter — the product of his affair with Meredith’s mother — and Meredith refuses to accompany hubby Derek (Patrick Dempsey) to his “once-in-a-lifetime” job in DC.

Can you stand it? You’ll have to — until “Grey’s” returns this fall.
