Woodson: Anthony might miss games during Texas trip

Carmelo Anthony missed Christmas, missed Canada and now Knicks coach Mike Woodson won’t guarantee Texas.

After getting swept in their home-and-home against the Raptors following Saturday’s embarrassing 115-100 loss at Air Canada Centre, the Knicks have four days off before resuming in San Antonio on Thursday. Woodson said he’s still unsure Anthony will be ready but added, “I’m hoping he will be’’ for the trip that also includes games in Houston and Dallas.

Anthony didn’t make the trip to Toronto on Saturday.

“His ankle is bad enough where he can’t play,’’ Woodson said before the loss. “We just got to go with that. When he’s ready to get back on the floor he’ll let us know. If he can’t run and jump because of his ankle, he needs to nurse it back and get it ready to go.’’

Anthony missed his third straight game after spraining his ankle last Monday in Orlando. Anthony thought he would be back for the Christmas Day game, believing it to be a minor sprain, but J.R. Smith said Friday night “apparently it’s extremely bad.’’

“When Melo’s ready to play, he’ll play,’’ Woodson said. “My track record with Melo, if he’s hurt, he’s hurt. You got to believe that.’’
