Thrill-seeker arrested after scaling Brooklyn Bridge

A backpack-wearing thrill-seeker was arrested Sunday for climbing atop the Brooklyn Bridge in yet another security breach on the famed span.

Yaroslav Kolchin, 24, of Manhattan, was busted after he climbed a suspension beam connected to the tower shortly before 12:30 p.m., cops said.

The suspect managed to get past security, which had been on high alert since trespassers unfurled a pair of white flags from the bridge last month.

City Department of Transportation workers who were also doing maintenance on the bridge did not notice him, either.

Kolchin was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after a uniformed sergeant spotted him climbing the cable beam and called for help from aviation, harbor and Emergency Services.

But before they arrived, Kolchin made it to the top of the tower, where he walked along the landing and took pictures with his iPhone, cops said.

“He did not cause any damage or attempt to remove anything at the location,” the NYPD said in a statement.

He walked back down the beam and was arrested without incident.

Last week, in another security breach, protesters unfurled a Palestinian flag from the Manhattan Bridge.
