Rutgers finishes Hall of a season sweep

Myles Mack scored 15 points as Rutgers posted a 56-51 victory over Seton Hall last night in Newark, sweeping the season series for the first time since 2000-01.

Jerome Seagears added 10 points and Mike Poole hit a clutch jumper with 1:41 to play and made a late steal to seal the game for the Scarlet Knights (14-15, 5-13 Big East), who snapped a five-game losing streak.

Aaron Cosby had 13 points to lead Seton Hall (14-17, 3-15).

Rutgers opens the Big East tournament Tuesday as the No. 11 seed against No. 14 DePaul; No. 12 Seton Hall will play No. 13 South Florida.

Harvard 56, Columbia 51

In Cambridge, Mass., Siyani Chambers scored 16 points to help Harvard (18-9, 10-3) rally past Columbia (12-15, 4-9) and move into first place in the Ivy League after Princeton (16-10, 9-3) fell at Yale.

Siena 70, Marist 64

In Springfield, Mass., O.D. Anosike scored 24 points with 12 rebounds and Siena (8-23) held off Marist (10-21) in the first round of the conference tournament to earn a matchup with top seed Niagara today.

Fairfield 54, St. Peter’s 47

In Springfield, Mass., Derek Needham scored 24 points and Fairfield (18-14) allowed Saint Peter’s (9-21) to score just three points in the final 11 1/2 minutes to advance to the second round of the conference tourney and a meeting with No. 2 seed Rider. Desi Washington led St. Peter’s with 13 points.
