Giants guard Geoff Schwartz exits with dislocated toe

The Giants’ offensive line looked disjointed and out of sync — where have we heard that before? — in the first half of Friday night’s 35-24 preseason victory over the Jets, and then took a big hit when left guard Geoff Schwartz went out with a dislocated toe on his right foot.

Schwartz was hurt late in the second quarter while blocking on a first-down pass. He went down and stayed down and had to be carted off the field. When Schwartz went out, rookie Weston Richburg moved from right to left guard and Brandon Mosley moved in at right guard. That might be the guard tandem the Giants have to use in the Sept. 8 regular-season opener in Detroit. Schwartz, who figures to be out several weeks and could be lost for the season if he needs surgery, was a key offseason acquisition.

Rookie running back Andre Williams had a “welcome to the NFL’’ moment when his comment during the week — “We’re the real New York team’’ — prompted Jets coach Rex Ryan to return the fire. Williams got the last laugh, though, rushing for 49 yards and scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run to put the Giants ahead to stay. After reaching the end zone, Williams put his finger to his mouth in a “Shhh’’ gesture.

“There was a lot of talk going on on the field between players,’’ Williams said. “I guess I was telling myself I need to be quiet and just, I got my moment of peace getting in the end zone. That’s what that was about.’’

Williams said he spoke with Ryan after the game.

“He just shook my hand and told me I had a great game,’’ Williams said. “I just said ‘thank you’ and let him know I do have the utmost respect for him and his team.”

Cornerback Zack Bowman left in the second quarter with a bruised triceps.

Wide receiver Marcus Harris was slammed to the turf and hurt his shoulder after a short reception. He returned to the sideline wearing a sling after sustaining an injury to the A-C joint. He said he’ll be out three-to-four weeks.

“Hopefully I’ll still be here,’’ Harris said.

Defensive tackle Markus Kuhn left in the third quarter with a lower leg injury. … Jets quarterback Matt Simms, after firing a fourth-quarter TD pass, mimicked the Victor Cruz salsa dance. Cruz didn’t see it, but didn’t sweat it.

“That’s my guy,’’ Cruz said. “Me and him, we train a little bit in the offseason together. He throws me a couple passes here and there when I need a quarterback over there with my trainer. He’s good. He’s a good dude.’’

The Giants got a scare in the first half when Jason Pierre-Paul went down holding his right knee. He was attended to on the sideline and returned for the next defensive series.
