THE KNIT DRESS
Kim sported another fashion calamity yesterday in a tight knit dress that puckered in all the wrong places. “Knitwear makes you look bigger and adds another layer of fabric,” says maternity expert and designer Rosie Pope. “It highlights every lump and bump.”
What’s wrong with the look?
-Bold embellishments call attention to the wrong places.
-Now that she’s pregnant, Kim needs to stop emphasizing her nonexistent waistline.
-Unforgiving fabric shows off flaws and yields unsightly folds.

But knit isn’t entirely off-limits, as Jessica Simpson shows. “You can throw a sweater over it like Jessica Simpson,” says Pope. “Or choose a dress with ruching, especially along the side. It’s a great way to make a tight dress more flattering as it’s a little more forgiving than something with fewer seams.”

THE MAXI DRESS
By opting for a freaky hemline, Kardashian once again finds herself in high-fashion hot water. “Keep away from things that are fussy,” says Jacqui Stafford, author of “The Wow Factor.” “A long hemline is sexy and gorgeous, especially with a low, cleavage-baring neckline,” Stafford advises. Kim could learn a thing or two from Beyoncé, who has nailed the maxidress look to the max.

THE BAG
A giant designer handbag can be the pregnant woman’s best friend, because it distracts the eye from the bump. But Kardashian chose a mini purse paired with her pencil skirt, creating a look that’s all out of proportion. “The scale of Kim’s bag is ridiculous,” says author Tara Koch. “It makes her look even bigger. She must have a multitude of Birkin bags in her closet to choose from, but she opts for this one? It’s crazy.”

By contrast, Kim’s sister Kourtney used the Birkin technique to great effect while pregnant. “The larger the bag, the smaller the belly and butt,” adds Tara Koch.

THE COCKTAIL DRESS
“Her proportion is all wrong. She was going for ‘Mad Men,’ but she looks like an overgrown ballerina with a uniboob,” says Tara Koch.
Pope believes she chose a tricky brand to wear. “Lanvin is cut beautifully but difficult to wear unless you have no hips. It’s a bizarre choice.”

“Beyoncé took a risk, but she served up a flirty, frothy frock,” says Tara Koch, noting that, although the design accentuates the star’s waist, it doesn’t have a distinct belt that cinches in the wrong places.

THE PANTS:
When Kim Kardashian stepped out in pants with a peplum, she committed a cardinal maternity style sin. “Keep it simple. You also have to accept that you don’t have a waistline anymore,” says Pope. It’s better to de-emphasize the waist, as Beyoncé did (above).
Stafford says Kardashian should show off her attractive legs with simple leggings, as Jessica Simpson did back in February. “A stretchy legging pant with a fabulous shoe that doesn’t have to be too flat or too crazy high would be great.”

THE JACKET:
The asymmetrical collar on Kardashian’s white coat was so busy, it drew attention to her shape. “This isn’t the time to experiment with trends,” says Stafford. “Keep silhouettes simple and stay away from pieces that look like you’re a fashion victim.”

The style expert says she should opt for a simple tuxedo jacket with a slim lapel to minimize her bust. An open blazer that hits below the bum — as seen on Beyoncé (above) and Drew Barrymore — “is infinitely more flattering.”
