MLB: Strasburg may miss next start

Stephen Strasburg may have irritated a nerve in his right arm using an electrical stimulation machine. Manager Davey Johnson said the Nationals do not expect Strasburg to have continued problems with the irritated nerve but it was too early to determine whether he will make his next scheduled start Saturday at Pittsburgh.

The Indians last night hit seven home runs in a 14-2 victory over Roy Halladay (2-3) and the Phillies, but Nick Swisher was out of the lineup because of a sore left shoulder. Swisher, who started Cleveland’s first 23 games, is batting .265 with two homers and nine RBIs.

Tim Hudson homered and notched his 200th career win in the Braves’ 8-1 win over the Nationals. … Hyun-Jin Ryu had a career-best 12 strikeouts in six innings as the Dodgers beat the Rockies 6-1. …The Pirates designated left-hander Jonathan Sanchez (0-3, 11.85 ERA) for assignment.

NFL: Blackmon suspended 4 games

Justin Blackmon was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the 2013 season for his second violation in less than a year of the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Blackmon, a wide receiver, will not get paid for the four-week hiatus, and the Jaguars could cut him without having to pay about $10 million that remains on a four-year, $18.5 million contract.

NHL: Rolston calls it quits

Brian Rolston retired yesterday after a 17-year NHL career in which he played for five teams, including the Devils when they won their first Stanley Cup in 1995. The 40-year-old forward did not play this season after splitting time with the Islanders and Bruins in 2011-12.

GOLF: Singh cleared in doping case

The PGA Tour dropped its doping case against Vijay Singh yesterday based on new information from the World Anti-Doping Agency, which said using deer antler spray is no longer prohibited because it contains such small amounts of a growth hormone factor.

Fourteen-year-old Guan Tianlang accepted a sponsor’s exemption into next month’s Byron Nelson Championship.

NBA: Gallinari undergoes surgery

Danilo Gallinari underwent surgery to repair meniscus in his left knee and will later have another procedure to fix his ACL. The Nuggets forward was hurt on April 4 against the Mavericks. The former Knick from Italy averaged career-highs in points (16.2) and rebounds (5.2) this season.

SOCCER: Dortmund advances to final

Borussia Dortmund qualified for the Champions League final, beating Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate despite losing the second leg of their semifinal 2-0. Dortmund is likely to face Bayern Munich in an all-German final at Wembley as the Bundesliga champion holds a 4-0 lead over Barcelona going into today’s return leg.
