Traveling with a canine companion can be a bit daunting, especially when certain spots aren’t pet-friendly. But now, the OUT Hotel is putting a new spin on what it means to be in the doghouse.
On Aug. 26 (National Dog Day), the Midtown hotel launches its swanky Dog House Suites, where for $349 per night, guests and their furry friends can indulge in unparalleled accommodations, including a safely enclosed outdoor space that comes complete with a doghouse, faux fire hydrant and human seating for pet parents.
“We wanted to go far beyond just ‘pet-friendly,’ ” says OUT Hotel general manager Stephen Westman.
Although doggy beds and squeaky toys aren’t out of the ordinary for dog owners, those items are just the tip of the iceberg at the Dog House Suites. Guests will have an experienced dog walker at their disposal, pet sitters, a Dog-Cam so guests can keep an eye on their precious pooches, and the ability to arrange a car service for their beloved pup.
Not exactly ruff-ing it.
