Even Matt Harvey and the Yankees weren’t enough to fill Citi Field.
After Monday night’s opener set a new low for a Subway Series crowd, with an announced attendance of 32,911 in Queens, only 31,877 showed up last night for the Mets’ dramatic, 2-1 victory.

The weather likely played a factor, with rain delaying the start by 91 minutes.
Prior to the game, Joe Girardi said he didn’t notice much of a difference in the atmosphere.
“I thought the crowd was into it,” the Yankees manager said. “I’m not sure what the attendance was [Monday] night. I’m not sure what the old ballpark held compared to this ballpark. But I thought the crowd was into it and I thought it was a pretty good game.”
The series shifts to The Bronx tonight, where attendance has been down this season.
