A woman slashed her wrist in a JFK Airport bathroom — and now officials want to know how she got a razor blade past security, sources said.
The incident unfolded shortly before 8 p.m., when the woman entered the bathroom in Terminal 2 near Gate C-63 and intentionally sliced her wrist with a “boxcutter razor,” a law-enforcement official said.
Port Authority and Emergency Service Unit police responded to the scene and found five boxcutter blades inside the badly bleeding woman’s purse. She claimed she used the items for her job as a hospital lab worker in Washington state.
Police were investigating how the woman was able to carry the prohibited items past TSA screening to the bathroom.
The woman was transported to Jamaica Hospital and was expected to survive.
